The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre – ISC3 – will be launched in May 2017 on the occasion of the conference “Mainstreaming Sustainable Chemistry”. This conference also provides an opportunity to meet members of the ISCnet global network, which is open to everyone engaged in sustainable chemistry.

16:30 Opening of High-Level Session: Sustainable Chemistry and the SDGs: Policy Options to Achieve the 2030 Agenda

Speakers: Barbara Hendricks (Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, Germany), Erik Solheim (Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme, tbc), N.N. (chemical industry)

  • Issues: International political and economic issues of importance for the development of sustainable chemistry

Panel discussion with stakeholders from industry, the developing world, an international policy organisation and the academic community followed by questions from the floor.

After this session, Mrs. Hendricks will hand over the official funding agreement to the Managing Director of the ISC3.

Four short contributions by other network-based organizations: Learnings and expectations

Stakeholder round table discussion exploring key questions and opportunities with perspectives from industry, science, developing countries and NGOs. Interactive technologies will be used to give participants the opportunity to ask questions and express their views on points made.
