Implementation of Sustainable Chemistry requires a sound knowledge of executives, researchers and practitioners
The ISC3-Research & Education Hub is developing and implementing international study programs of Sustainable Chemistry. For an interdisciplinary understanding of Sustainable Chemistry, know-how about green chemistry, i.e. synthesis and product related topics, needs to be complemented by a broader knowledge of chemistry’s role and contributions within a circular economy including product life cycle, recycling, feedstock etc.. However, chemistry - if it wants to contribute in a sustainable manner to sustainability - still needs a broader approach, which is Sustainable Chemistry. It includes knowledge on new business and service models, regulations, international chemicals management, environmental chemistry, toxicology, economics, and ethics related to the chemical sector, too.
With the establishment of international study programmes in Sustainable Chemistry, a first of its kind Master of Science in Sustainable Chemistry (M.Sc. SC) and a first of its kind Master of Business Administration Management of Sustainable Chemistry (MBA SC), the ISC3 takes first steps towards making Sustainable Chemistry an integral part of scientific and executive education. To reach out globally, the programs are mostly offered online.
