Condition Monitoring
Condition Monitoring (CM) consists of monitoring system parameters in an industrial process to identify anomalies in processes that can lead to fault. In general, CM is a fault detection tool used in the chemical industry to provide continuous monitoring of production stages where machinery is involved to prevent catastrophic events, leakages, energy losses, and to ensure that the health of the systems in use is optimal. Integrated solutions such as fault isolation are used to find out which component is faulty, and fault identification aims to determine the size and type of the faults. Prognosis aims to predict the remaining useful life of a system or component as well as the energy performance of electrified equipment. CM also plays a key role in predictive maintenance as the complexity of the process increases and the need for energy efficiency in production remains high, solutions such as condition monitoring help companies to make use of digital technology to monitor processes via computational algorithms in real-time.

GHG Reduction Potential
The potential reduction is determined by the amount of energy, heat and other energy leakages, and other power-consuming faults detected via Condition Monitoring. There is not an exact measure of the number of emissions reduced. However, Condition Monitoring provides the measurement of electricity consumption that can be translated into direct CO2.
