Incentivizing Sustainable Chemicals Policy Webinar
Incentivizing Sustainable Chemicals: A Policy Framework for Innovation, Manufacturing, and Market Transformation
On April 22, Change Chemistry and the Sustainable Chemistry Catalyst at UMass Lowell will publish Incentivizing Sustainable Chemicals: A Policy Framework for Innovation, Manufacturing, and Market Transformation. Based on a yearlong working group of US and EU companies across sectors and the full value chain, the report identifies policy incentives governments can deploy to accelerate innovation, commercialization, and adoption of sustainable chemistry at scale.
This webinar will present the report’s findings, including:
Key policy design criteria for incentives and where they can have the greatest impact across the value chain.
Both supply-push and demand-pull policy incentives needed at different stages of technology development and adoption to enable supply chain and market adoption.
What combinations of policy incentives can amplify and accelerate innovation, commercialization, and adoption of sustainable chemistry at scale.
The report aims to provide a toolkit for policymakers and others to utilize the most effective mix of incentives to meet policy, technology, and market goals.
