Phase-out Lead in Paint: ISC3 partners with UN Environment in new global SAICM project

The ISC3 is proudly announcing its participation in a newly approved global project led by UN Environment. The multi-stakeholder project ‘Global best practices on emerging chemical policy issues of concern under the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM)’ will be implemented in 70+ countries over a 4-year period.
Main areas of work are set on the SAICM emerging policy issues including the global phase-out of lead in paint, improved lifecycle management of chemicals in products, and better knowledge management and stakeholder engagement.
Supported with about 9 million USD by the Global Environment Facility, the world´s largest funder of projects to improve the global environment, the project aims to contribute greatly to the 2020 SAICM goal and the 2030 UN Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The ISC3 as key player for promoting Sustainable Chemistry worldwide particularly supports the knowledge management and stakeholder engagement components of the initiative.
